5 ways to get prepared for the Winter Season
With the winter holiday season here, make sure
your IT department is prepared for vacations and
sick time.
- Cross train your employees to be sure that
critical job functions can be carried out in
someone’s absence.
- Delegate tasks to make staff accountable for
getting things done correctly.
- If someone will be taking over your duties
while you are on vacation, explain what needs to
be done while you are away and make a
clearly-printed list for his or her convenience.
- Create an emergency contact list for people
who can be of assistance in case something goes
wrong. You should include personal and mobile
phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
- Complete and test back-ups before you leave.
